Saralyn, that is a brilliant idea!!! You know, maybe, he could be the source of the rumor, which turned out untrue, but in fact, true...Maybe the surviving Sage once tried to contact him? Oakenlings have a lifespan of 300 years, half-Faes lives longer, 500 to 600 years. Oakenlings believe their human ancestor was led to Moonfell Hill by two magpies. On top of the hill the ancestor found a maiden bathing in a pool. This maiden is believed to be either an avatar or a handmaid of the Moon Goddess..

Thanks so much, again, for your time and explanations!! We'll do as you suggest and have him be half-Fae Oakenling. I think, in fact, that I used the pointed ears on this doll and just covered the tips with hair, lol! Best of wishes to your sole Alu Sage, and tell me if you need anything else in particular! I have such fun creating characters!

Yes I do prefer to keep the Alu Sage a sole survivor, it's kinda a key to a plot I'm having. Since Alu Sages pass their knowledge through direct mind to mind interaction...and there are those who wish to obtain the Sages' knowledge, for good or evil, but they can't decipher it....so you know there gonna be a 'war' when there's a rumor about a surviving Sage. So thank you for your understanding.

He would be an Alu Sage in your case...Alu Sages' lineage pass strictly father to son, so there's no female Alu Sage, just like there's no male Witch :). A half-Fae Sage is still a Sage so his son is still a Sage. Sorry I get all these mixed-blood thing so confusing and complex. Yep, Fae/Oakenling is more than fine, he could be related to Alu Sages on mother's side, but I would say the unusual eye colour a result of his Fae lineage.

What I was thinking was Fae/Oakenling mother and Fae/Alu Sage father... which would make him a Fae/Alu Sage himself. I'm sorry to have gotten so confused about all this. - Just ignore what I was thinking, and tell me what you'd like him to be, and that's what we'll do. :) If I understand correctly, he could still be Fae/Oakenling if I adjust the ears a little, if you'd rather not set a precedent of creating exceptions to rules, like there are no more Alu Sages. :)

Correct me if I get you wrong, so you're saying one of his parents is a mixed-blood of an Oakenling and an Alu Sage? Well, if that's his father, then he would be a half-Fae son of an Alu Sage, which still makes him an Alu Sage. If that's his mother, then...he's a half-Fae Oakenling, with a bit Sage blood of course...

you can see Faes are very much respected in Twilight Realm, so having Fae lineage is a good thing...at least for those who respect the Faes. Lylthians, Damian, Iretmoses and Morrigans are sterile so no mixed-blood from them (however there is a known case that a man impregnate a Lylthian woman, but there aren't other known cases). Yelaadim pretty much reject mixed-blood, yes they do join with humans and their children are other Yelaadim or humans...
