Ifrit is disappointed, but she knows that her father, whatever his faults, has no reason to lie to her. She has dismissed him, telling him that she has no further questions, when he turns back from leaving and says, "You defeated Imp! Your mate helped you do it. This is good!" Then he speeds away into the setting sun. "Well!" Ifrit exclaims, "that's an astounding endorsement! I wasn't expecting him to take such an interest in me." "But we now know that he was honest about me," Amen says.

Male only snarls, but looks oddly proud. "You defeated Imp! And I hear you got married as well... Am I supposed to do anything about it?" "No, Father, that would be out of character. I have a question for you, though, regarding Amen, here, and what you told him. Do you remember what you said to him?" Ifrit inquires with a strange combination of affection and steel. "Of course I do. Now that I'm reminded of his existence," says the male ifrit. "Well, were you telling the whole truth?"

His sire is clearly surprised to see Amen, however, in addition to his daughter, and paces around the djinn boy comparing similarities, chuckling as well as he is able around his tusks. "If you want some sort of apology, you've wasted your time; I saved your life, boy, and you should be grateful. Also, now that my daughter acknowledges you, what better family could you wish for? Count your blessings!" But Male still sounds defensive. "Thanks for the compliment, Father," Ifrit says sweetly.
