Ifrit takes Amen and walks far out into the desert to summon their father. He won't, of course, come right away, but they will know when he has responded and shown up at that site. In the meantime they go back to the city, talking about their shared experiences as fey, and personal tastes, basic history... anything and everything and even nothing much. It is good to suddenly have family that one can count on, and they both enjoy the phenomenon to the fullest. Ifrit also has some other ideas.

"You must be what you were intended to be," Ifrit tells him, "and if I am a bit sad that this is not djinn, then I am also happy to help you achieve your goal in any way I can." Amen blinks fiercely so as not to cry red tears. "You're a wonderful sister; I find that I'm very lucky! What can you do, though?" "For one thing, I can summon Father by our common blood. He won't like it, but he can enlighten me as to whether he was being 100% truthful based on experience, or guessing, or what."

"Then that was our father; blue male ifrits are uncommon, and I know of only one with both tusks and rams' horns." Ifrit grins. "This makes you the first respectable family member I've ever had!" "Likewise!" says Amen, just as thrilled. "But... but perhaps you might not like to continue to call me your sibling if I am successful at returning to my former human state." "Nonsense, little brother!"

On the rare occasions when this happens, we call it siring, and it is tantamount to being a true parent. Why didn't you tell me before?" Amen, ever truthful, replies, "It was mere speculation on my part that the blue ifrit I met was your father. I didn't want to put any claims on you that might be false." "He had ears and eyes like ours, yes?" "Yes."
