Thanks Belnika!!! I did use a photo and I tried to draw the lines first, or else it would be seriously more messed up and unrecognizable. I was so pleased that it came out as well as it did, considering my lack of anything resembling artistic talent. The information on perspective is very helpful, and I see now what you are saying!

I usually "draw out the lines of the shape im making to start off with d&ds. I don't know if any of that helps, but kudos for even attempting this hat! Also, I love her shirt, and thank you for cluing me in to Wren's love of hats =D ~this is most useful information~

Did you use a photo reference? Because i think such things are paramount with hats - especially the cowboy hat. They are seriously awful to make art of. I love cowboys, but I don't think I've drawn a single one because of the darn hats!! anyway, all I can tell you is that your hat sort of looks like its facing forward and trying to be angled at the same time. the "bumps" in the crown should be closer together at this angle and the folded part of the brim should partially block the crown.

Thanks and you're welcome! Laughter is all good!!! I think... that the brim is too wide, and where it goes behind her head shouldn't be at such an angle. But other than that, I'm out of my depth. Definitely too odd a choice for me to try!

You are so kind. The title made me chuckle! I love the outfit. The cowboy hat is a difficult shape and at the moment I'm not sure what to suggest. When I can't get a shape right I'll sometimes put it in their hands :-)
