Thanks very much Cygnet!! I did sort of have that in mind, that the bigger version of the "mask" behind her would look a little like wings, but I was afraid that idea had failed miserably. I'm so glad you picked up on it and approve!!
I never would have thought to use the crowns and lace behind her as a canoe of sorts; the effect works wonderfully. She looks like she's wearing wings, or that she's part of a Venetian procession. I also like how the dress itself doesn't have many embellishments. It allows the mask and the atmosphere to take center stage.
