Dark elves of deep space favor a bright blue tinged silver for their weapons, jewelry, and other artifacts. Here the Empress wears a rare lavender form of their refined metal.

The dark elves also favor bright silver, gold, copper, of the purest lustre. There is a rare deep black metal that can be forged only in the heart of a star.

I even worked out the physical properties of these metals in my chemistry class many years ago.
