For @The_Nameless's 'Art is Theft' contest.
A recreation of a classic and iconic dancing pose in the numerous
wallpaiting of Mogao Caves in Dunhuang, China. Mogao Cave, an oasis Buddhism cave temple located at a religious and cultural crossroad of the Silk Road, is home to thousands of fine Buddhism wall-paintings, sculptures and manuscripts, a true treasure mine of art and culture. This particular one, a Gandhanra plays Pipa (a kind of musical instrument) behind her/his (Gandhanra in Buddhism are agender), has become an icon of the culture of Tang Dynasty. Her/his dynamic dancing pose combines elements from Indian Bharatanatyam dance (legs movement) and dance of Han people, an epitome of the spirit of Tang Dynasty, open, free, strong yet elegant.
