I really like the design of her gown, the square pattern on her skirt is very pretty and the bead details work beautifully with it. Also her hemline at the bodice and her sleeves are spectacular! I love the lacework and trim!
In a time when the general public was unaccustomed to the idea of female higher educastion she made great strides to achieve her goal. She ultimately also advocated Women's entry into the workforce(although she had set ideas of what work was suited for women). In 1852 she created an entire section in her publication titled "Employment for Women" which addressed women's issues trying to enter the workforce. She also published works by other notable female authors and education advocates.
As an advocate for education Hale also belived the inportance of play and physical education in developing emotionally healthy and happy kids who would be able to better carry out intellectual pursuits. Furthermore, Hale endorsed Female education and Higher education for women. Shge wrote 17 verticals and editorials to that effect pointing out the advantages of well educated woman to a household and family life. She helped found the 1st all women's college Vassar College.
Sarah was not a feminist or an activist and did not support women's suffrage and instead believed in the "secret, silent influence of women" to sway male voters. In her works she reinforced traditional women's roles and wrote about subjects like cooking, literature, fashion and morality. It was her belief that women the gentler sex was responsible to guide their partners and make a home.
Nonetheless, she was outspoken in her support for equal education for boys and girls.
