| Linet has one blood sibling, a twin brother, and one bond sibling, a cousin. They are all very close and have been through much together. Her brother and cousin are married and have children now, Linet is the only single left. Linet's parents disappeared when she and her brother were young, and were presumed dead, so the children were taken in by her aunt and uncle, another noble family with much more ambition than her parents ever had. Tired of Linet's 'pickiness' after her siblings had all been married off, her aunt and uncle arranged a marriage with a man many years her senior, who terrified her. Knowing that Linet was miserable, her cousin and brother devised a plan to smuggle her out of the city and help her escape before the official announcement is made, thus rendering the arrangement null and void. |
