| Gerri shouted It is highway robbery I tell you and I am not paying for it. Fine said the pharmacist. Gerr1 was the proverbial pistol and she didn't do anything she didn't want to do and she didn't want to pay that price for the medication. Gerro needed the medication or her condition would worsen but she didn't have the money. Her husband walked out on her two weeks ago and her income just wasn't able to stretch to pay for a medication that cost $140 . She didn't have insurance. The gentleman who was behind her in line could see the tears in Gerri's eyes and asked how much the medication was as Gerri left the pharmacy in a huff. He paid for the medication and ran to catch up with her. Overwhelmed by the kind gestuare, with tears she asked Why? He shared I was on this medication last year and I know why you have to take it and that it is important to begin the treatment right away. I wouldn't want you to suffer a worse fate because it wasn't affordable. |
