| Martha Washington was the wife of the first president of the United States, George Washington. She was born on the 2nd June 1731 and died on the 22nd May 1802 at the age of 70. After her first marriage to Daniel Parke Custis ended because of his death, she and George reared two of her children: John Parke "Jacky" Custis and Martha Parke "Patsy" Custis. Her other two children Daniel and Frances died in early childhood. She died of natural causes and was soon named the very first First Lady of the United States. For NightOwl's contest :) |
