The grateful king asks what he can do to repay her, and she asks for a place for her family to stay on the outskirts of the merkingdom. She explains that her family was abandoned by their kind after their father sacrificed himself for an enemy soldier. The king, completely taken aback, says that that "enemy soldier" was his son, Prince Triton--& if it weren't for her father's intervention, his battle wounds would have been fatal. He warmly welcomes her & her family into his kingdom, providing

(Con.) floats into her ear, & suddenly she knows how to create a healing potion all on her own! She races to gather the ingredients, then presents herself humbly before the royal guard, explaining she is from the Caribbean & has a potion that could help. Seeing her vibrant tentacles & outfit, as well as the royal gold shell around her neck, the guards believe her tale & cautiously relent. She gives half of the potion to the sick king & half to the injured son, who are both restored to health.

I adore this incarnation of Ursula!! The darkness and the light mixed into something totally vibrant and lovely, if a little bit dangerous, perhaps... Her outfit is totally gorgeous, and I've always been fascinated by those vials!
