But when she reaches the Caribbean, there's not a single octopid in sight; there are only mermaids galore! Reminded of her father's death in the octopid-mermaid war, Ursula is horrified at the thought of interacting w/ the merfolk. But she realizes if she wants to save her mother, she has no choice. Summoning what little strength she has left after making the exhausting journey, she submits herself before the royal family & begs for their help. They warmly but reluctantly agree, on the condition that she only take one potion back--the healing potion--to prevent the dangerous spread of magic.
