So Isfathotep planned to pay homage to Meryamaat in her tomb, and cause her to start moving. Then he would use his rival, Ankesnaapep, to whom he had shifted the gaze of Apophis, to follow her mother Meryamaat through the Hibernatorium to the doors of the Temple, where the High Priest would already be... quite innocently... waiting to welcome the eternal seer and sacrifice to his domain. Once again the chaos God seemed to favor him, and Isfathotep's scheme was carried out with flawless success.

...He, or someone whose eyes he could take control of, had to watch her the entire time to keep Meryamaat from wavering off course or becoming distracted and sleepy again. That meant he had to take an active role in the abduction, that must not look like a kidnapping. However (and he had practiced this), his etheric patterning was so tightly woven over Ankesnaapep, now, that he could use her unknowingly, if he took caution to make it a very sporadic event, as practically an extension of himself.

Ironically, it had been the timely opening of Meryamaat's eyes that had given the Iretmose cleric this idea; simply have her walk to the Temple on her own two feet... silently and mysteriously, of course... and then allow the door to clang shut behind her. Isfathotep believed he had a conjuration that would work on the non-living but undead seer. It was basically a puppet animating charm, but with overtones of the hypnosis spell thrown in, just for good measure. There was only one downside...

However, the Witch girl was the last component Isfathep needed to make ready. First, the High Priest himself, the most recognizable male remaining in the Hibernatorium, had to abscond with the semi-living body of Meryamaat, carry it somehow (he was sure she was heavy) through the winding curved passages of the Hibernatorium, and into the Temple... without being seen or remarked upon. At first Isfathotep had considered holding the rites in Meryamaat's public tomb, but it was somewhat too public.

The High Priest had already sent Archmage Kemat for the girl. At some point during the ceremony, the young Witch would have to be released from all earthly bonds (except his), which would include the spell that rendered her an automaton. However, as Kemat dealt with distractions from without the High Priest's Temple, Tashmitum and Toth would deal with any tiny glitches within, and prevent the girl, Vedika from escaping or... attacking, if she dared... or worse yet... attempting self-sacrifice.
