"You're too late, however," she finished. "The Snake-Eyed have him... or her... and what they take, they don't give back." Sofaya thumped her cane down hard, and headed back toward her house. "Were the thieves who took the litella shackles Iretmoses, then?" Robin called after her. "Don't you listen, boy? My nose works fine. I know a snake when I smell one. Go home and kiss your loved ones; if they've returned, probably the world is ending, you fool, so make the best of the time you have left."
