Two very nice gold and jeweled belly chains, a fair bit of spending silver, and a respectable stack of euros towards her overhead costs had changed hands before Fatine volunteered the information that Sharp... that was the only name he answered to... had indeed, until lately, isolated himself from his enemies in the northern isles of Scotland, though the Lyllaen couldn't swear the Orkneys had been meant. Recently, though, he had come into enough money to buy his way back into the good graces of the majority of his creditors and those whom he'd intolerably insulted in one way or another, and had returned to Paris. The lovely barkeep had not been swayed by his offers of gold, oddly enough; she valued the peace and integrity of her establishment more. Yet the fact that Sharp had brought gold rather than the silver generally used in night fae commerce was intriguing. (cont.) |
