Robin and Draensil defended Marea's judgement on this occasion, however. The fox sidhe excelled at many skills, but dissembling did not number among them. Not that Fatine would be taken in by lies, of course... yet still, one doesn't always want to tell all of the truth, and the Grey Moth was a venue in which an affinity for deceit was a beneficial attribute. Therefore, the expatriate Yeled and the dark Witch equipped themselves with valuables and prepared to enjoy verbally fencing with Fatine.

In the end, the Candeliana Witch decided to delegate the task of negotiating with Fatine herself to Draensil and Mark, since, outwardly at least, they seemed to be the two with the most... flexible... moral compasses. She and Robin would act as backup just outside of the Grey Moth, with Karako and Elora waiting for the others several blocks away. The Kitsune, especially, protested that this was unfair; how was she to get experience if she was forever forbidden to do things because she lacked it?

Marea had also given careful thought to which members of her team to send to Fatine's establishment. Six people seemed like overkill, and she worried that they might stand out as a group, despite how diverse they appeared, but they didn't have to stupidly all enter as one clump nor yet hang around each other once inside. Elora might be remarkable as a demonstrably older person in a tavern full of fae. Then again, knowing the customers of the bar, she might fit right in. You could never be sure.

As evening drew nearer, Marea considered what currency she had to offer the lovely Fatine. Cash she had, although information was usually preferred. Secrets the young Witch possessed as well... that Mark Frost had been Miles the Yeled, that Vedika was being groomed to become the next oracle for both Sisterhoods, that at least two Iretmoses were alive and well and kidnapping people... but these she couldn't afford to share. No, it would have to be money; the Grey Moth had business expenses, too.
