"I might have missed it," she confessed in grudging respect. "I was already scrying," Marea said, and shrugged. "Do we have everything we can think of from this site?" she asked rhetorically. The two Witches and Kitsune performed a few more investigative spells, and then decided that they could glean no more from being there. It was time to share their findings with the men in their group, and then with the rest of the people concerned: Tiger and Vedika had definitely been abducted somehow.

"Draensil," Marea inquired contemplatively, "do you sense anything... wrong... about the whole path to this spot, but especially here... like... a pushing against... I don't know... everything?" Tempted to look scathingly at the younger Witch, Draensil nevertheless balanced a short, wooden rod (NOT a fairy wand; she'd deny that to her dying breath) across her palm and started turning in a circle, as though she were holding a compass. "Yes," the dark Witch admitted, "there is a certain off-ness."

"Uhoh," Karako uttered reflexively, despite the fact that they'd all more or less been expecting something like this. There were good things to note about the scene, though: a complete absence of shed blood, no drag marks leading away from the site, the merely minor negative aura present as opposed to that which would have been caused by major violence. On the other hand, any of these things would have been clues that might have proven useful. As it was, there was a colossal lack of evidence.

"The 'cold' smell is stronger, as well, yet I still can't identify it," finished Karako. Getting out her crystals, Marea began to scry for Tiger and Vedika, and wasn't surprised when it was easier to pick up their traces in the Twilight Realm where no crowds had passed over their footsteps. However, there wasn't a long track to follow; the two 'teens' had only gone a few dozen yards before their psychic prints simply... stopped... in signs of a struggle which were even visible to the naked eye.

"Unless you need me for some reason, I'll stay with Mark, then, and let you ladies do the work this time." He smiled charmingly. "Just don't let it become a habit," Marea teased him mildly. "Okay, I guess this is it," the young Witch concluded, finding a fairly convenient reflective puddle. She crossed over, Draensil right behind her, with the bouncy-tempered Kitsune on their heels. "Do you smell anything now?" she immediately asked the latter. "Lots. Forest mostly. But Oakenling, too, here."
