"Oh my!" Ynarra exclaimed as soon as she heard the news. "We won't discuss the enormous amount of danger you put yourself in, dear. I perfectly understand why you did it, and after all, the chances of the perpetrators lingering in the vicinity were quite slim. But now that we're sure there was foul play, you have to be more careful!" In the background, her sister uncharacteristically demanded to be included in the conversation, however that technology worked. "You're right, Elora, what we really need is a family conference... on Skype, or a Zoom meeting, or something. I'll arrange that, Marea," her grandmother told her. "In the meantime, you and Mark should continue following Tiger and Vedika's trail, if you think you can do that relatively safely. If not, or if at any time you two suspect that you might be in over your heads, wait for help. Be prudent!" (cont.)

Frankly, I can't predict how their Mistress Supreme will react, yet my intuition leans toward the belief that one does not mess with the Sisters of Ankanas and get away with it. Whoever caused Vedika's disappearance, and Tiger's as collateral damage, is going to regret their actions, I think."

"Yes, Gran," Marea answered obediently. "At least we won't have a hard time convincing Isthare to stay at home for the sake of the baby, although she'll be fiendishly angry about not being useful, of course." Her grandmother laughed. "You're being very picky about potential help... but then, so am I."

"I will. At least, I'll try my best. Mark will help me, and that's a better guarantee," Marea promised. "This is all going to make it difficult to convince Mom and Hawkeye not to drop everything and create a portal back here; they'll feel responsible and want to be in on... whatever we wind up doing." Ynarra briefly agreed. "Not that I don't want them," the young Witch added quickly. "It's just that they had such a long journey not so long ago, and then the wedding, and they deserve a vacation."
