The former immortal looked gratefully into her companion's eyes. "My sister," Yu Lien said tearfully, "your blood has enabled me to become human!" Fa Mulan's eyes were damp too, but she laughed and replied, "Well then, let’s put away the Jade Lotus before it injures either of us any further."

Then, with both Fa Mulan and Yu Lien holding onto the naked blade, the deep magic started to work in earnest. One by one, tiny droplets of Mulan's blood swirled through the air around Yu Lien, evaporating into puffs of pure energy as they formed a sort of aura around the immortal spirit, slowly sinking into her skin, transfusing her with a pinkish light. Nervously, Yu Lien laughed. "It feels... strange. What do you call the sensation... ticklish?" Suddenly she stared aghast at her own hand.
