Thanks so much once again, Lexia!! Mulan is indeed kind of tired of all of his melodrama. I guess it takes a huge ego to decide "oh hey, I'm bored, I think I'll conquer China", but she is just so ready for him to die already!

Wow, yet again I can see all of it unfold and it's amazing. the line "roaring his rage, to the roof tiles" is brilliant as well as the feeling of the chase you've created! Bravo! The scene is great too, as that face Mulan is pulling is a real "I haven't got time to be dealing with you" face or at least that's how I see it and I love it either way!

Both Fa Mulan and the Shan Yu leapt for the weapon, but his arms were longer and he reached it first... yet he couldn't catch the hilt, and the blade slashed his palm open. Overbalanced and in pain, he fell, roaring his rage, to the roof tiles. And he began to slide... faster and faster as his weight pulled him down. Futilely, the Hun leader clutched at carvings as he plunged past them, however his injured and bloody hand wouldn't close, and his other arm, also hurt, refused to support him.

As it turned out, he didn't have to. While Mulan was scanning for a way down off the steep roof, the Shan Yu appeared in front of her; perhaps someone had left a scaffold or ladder from hanging lanterns on the gables. As he approached her, the big Hun laughed, "It seems you're out of clever ideas." But when he swung the Jade Lotus at her, Mulan countered, "Not quite yet..." catching the blade in the fan she pulled from her belt, and twisting the weapon from his grasp. It flew into the air.

Mulan sprinted along the palace corridors, going left or right at random, hearing the Shan Yu practically on her heels, until abruptly she found herself facing a dead end with a small window. Her enemy turned the corner and grinned at his cornered prey. Hastily she scrambled out of the window and began climbing the ornamental carvings up to the roof. Surely the large steppe warrior couldn't squirm through the narrow window, much less scale the outside of the building with his wounded forearm.

By now, though, Shang and her friend had had plenty of time to reach the square with the Emperor. Throwing the Shan Yu's sword like a javelin at the rope where it fastened to the balcony, she managed to sever the knot. The Hun whipped around only to see the cord fall. Mulan, however, was already through the door and running down the hallway. Yu Lien couldn't guide her, since the Hun leader held the Jade Lotus, but at least the sword spirit wouldn't assist him, either, because he was male.
