Thank you so much, LadySky!! I'm thrilled to pieces that you like my retelling of Mulan, and I really appreciate your support for my writing! I have about 3/4 of my take on Mulan 2 worked out in my head, but I can't promise that it won't be a let down... The main story is still the main story, I think.

This really feels like a snap in time of your story, that all the action is going on just out of frame and Mulan will start moving any second. I really like your writing too, I'd totally read your version of Mulan 2! I know what you mean about Disney sequels, I tend to avoid them to prevent disappointment... Great job!

If I could still post it on your contest, though, I'd be grateful! In general, Disney sequels are disappointing, but I have a vague idea in my head that I might play around with...

No problem! I'm genuinely impressed by you and Yellow's work, I would love to be able to watch these version/stories on the actual screen. I do actually like Mulan's military uniform and wouldn't call it dull, simplified styles can go a long way. Anyway I'm so glad you're enjoying the contest!

Awww yes! I really like how quick witted Mulan is with her "Honestly, I'm neither." As ever your writing conjures great and fast paced images. Also lovely to see Mulan in another wardrobe change, like how you did her hair too!

Thanks very much, Mytha!! I've been waiting to use this doll! I'm having so much fun that the crazy thought to do a highly abbreviated, alternate form of Mulan 2 occurred to me, but I'm not sure I'll do it... It wouldn't be fair to Lexia to keep her C&Cing until her crowns or her patience run out... As usual, I have trouble knowing when to stop.

Fortunately, Fa Mulan had a plan. Sprinting up to her friends, she called, "Wait, I have a better idea!" To Shang's mild annoyance, they put down the statue. Warily, one ventured, "You're really a man, then, not a ghost?" "Honestly, I'm neither," Mulan replied. "It's a long story, but I'm definitely alive, and I need your help to save the Emperor. Trust me, please!" Although a couple of them insisted on touching her first, they all followed her lead. It was time for a change of clothing...
