There was something particularly romantic about the first dance, led by Brin and her new husband shortly thereafter, when dishes were cleared away, by and large. It went without saying that Hawkeye didn't originally know how to Waltz. Yet the retiring Oakenling had learned the steps fairly well for her sake, and the two managed to float through the dance as though they'd been performing it together all their lives. Then the shy couple joyfully sat out most of the rest of the music that night.

Some were more sober and coherent than others, depending on how late the hour and how much they'd drunk, but nobody minded that, as those overcome with the need to salute the bridal couple were all, fortunately, well behaved in spite of their alcohol levels. It is possible that there were heavy spells on the glasswear, as it is considered rude to enchant the drinks themselves. By the time most of the people finished eating, an unobtrusive band of strings and reeds had been playing for a while.

The entire confection was decorated with snow white frosting flowers and curlicues over white icing, although the layers themselves were either white cake, lemon yellow, or chocolate underneath. Brin cut the top, white cake tier, and the married couple quite decorously each had a bite. Then dinner was brought to the guests, along with a slice of their choice of cake flavor. Several other people gave brief speeches and toasted Hawkeye and his lovely spouse, or vice versa, at various points.

Thank you very, very much, Leaf!! I wanted so much to create something beautiful and classic for Brin, that would be elegant and graceful, but still reflect her witchy heritage! To be honest, I started out with the sickle moon neckline, and just worked from there. I'm elated that you like it, and will get to writing ASAP, probably tomorrow, I hope!

I have been waiting for Brin's wedding dress, and I am stunned by the elegance and thoughtfulness of the design! I cannot think of better decoration than the beaded moon! And the one around her neckline is such a nice touch! I cannot wait to see the ceremony!

Thanks so much, Mytha!! I just loved the idea of the beaded moon phases so much, once I figured out how to do it. And if you are going to jump the broom, it might as well be a pretty one.
