"It should be easy to get consent to leave Ankanas if you are escorted by your sister," the young High Mistress volunteered, as though that were the reason for her presence. "I'm glad you stayed, Isthare," Elora told her. "I... you are the surviving family of the Witch I killed. I feel that I owe you reparations for depriving you of your aunt."

The spell took quite some time, at one point including writing both names on a single sheet of vellum and burning it in a small brazier. That was what produced the fusion itself, and Elora felt faint as she stood in the thin wisps of smoke. The rest was largely to safely detach the spell caster from the named person. After that came the vows to harm none and be ever obedient to the wishes of the Mistress Supreme of the Dark Sisters, laid in place over Elora with her newly bonded public name.

Furthermore, it was fitting that she be the one to have the full power of Elora's true name as Jaenell's niece.
