The last part of the directive seemed strange, but her friends didn't question the Candeliana Witch. "Is there anything we can do to help your Gran, do you think?" queried Belandvyn hopefully. Marea sighed again. "No, I don't think so. Either she comes down after defeating the Traitor... or she doesn't return to us at all."

The young witch tossed a very thorough fireball at him, and he was almost instantly incinerated. "Anyone else want to die a martyr right now, or do you think there's been enough death for one night?" Marea inquired, leaning on her staff for steadiness while she lowered herself to one knee next to Mark Frost. The two coherent Yelaadim didn't seem disposed to argue, so Robin bound their hands with rubbery bubble material while Tylyr and Belandvyn each coshed one on the head with their own sword.
