"I will contact you with his location as soon as both of us have returned to our home bases in the Twilight Realm," the Witch promised, privately thinking that she would dispose of these Damians, one by one if necessary, after the golden eyed man was captured. "Of course," the Sar confirmed, willing to put up with much from this woman who had found the sole survivor of the Alu Sages ten years ago. He could afford to be tolerant, since he would eliminate her once the prize was in his custody.

There was another High Mistress who also had litella shackles, and whose power I might have joined with mine. I killed her. You're asking me to place a great deal of trust in your underlings and yourself," the Traitor paused as if considering. "But we have achieved an accord, your military force for my knowledge of where to find the Alu Sage."

"What do you have to offer me in exchange for my information?" the Traitor asked, being deliberately vague about how much she could or would tell him. Red eyes stared unflinchingly into hers. "I have bonds of litella, and I have six trained Damian soldiers, including myself." "Is that all?" the Witch questioned, feeling in control of the situation and confident in her ability to manipulate the bloodborn commander. "That's more than sufficient," he retorted, repressing a sneer of superiority.

This was the same cavern in Romania that she had used to meet with the Yelaadim ten years ago, so when the Damian arrived, he was wearing his plainest, mortal realm clothing with no insignia of rank. However, the Traitor didn't doubt that he was, in fact, a Sar. That much rang true. He hadn't brought his soldiers with him, though, but come alone as specified, as a show of good faith. "Sar," the Witch greeted him, with the merest nod. "High Mistress," he replied, sizing her up in return.
