The site to which Hawkeye and his late wife had been invited was a private home, of modest size, and fit perfectly into the surrounding countryside. There was certainly nothing out-of-the-ordinary about the middle aged couple who lived there. They were happy to receive Ynarra and Marea as guests, and quite willing, despite the slightly odd nature of the inquiries, to answer their questions.
Yes, they had resided there for almost two decades, since their children were small. However, ten years ago they had rented their house for the summer, as they'd gone to visit their grown son and his family in Australia. It was a single gentleman they'd rented to... Greek, they thought, or possibly Middle Eastern... who wanted a quiet place in the country to write his book. No, they couldn't remember much about him... now wasn't that strange?... although he'd been a pleasant enough person. |
