Phew, it's finally finished, after many failed attempts. Forgive the simplistic background, but I was just tired by that point. Anyway, it's based on this illustration from my favorite childhood storybook. I hope you enjoy!
Thank you kindly, NightOwl!! There have been more recent reprints of the book that have less flamboyant color schemes, but I really like the sass of this Bedelia.
I love it so much! Such a great representation of a beautiful illustration! It is just so detailed and beautiful. I love the design of the dress and all the colours work so well together! :D
Thanks so much, Lisa!! My favorite parts are her hair and coat, too. The coat is supposed to be made of the scales of salamanders that live in a volcano, but her suitor cheated, and she's about to prove it by throwing that lovely coat into the fire.
Thanks very much, Aylatha!! I wouldn't put pink and orange together, either, but the costume comes from a book written in 1969 when all bright colors were groovy like that. So yeah, the dress is mostly D&D, but it's partially skirt overlays. :)
Dat hair! Wow! I really love the flowers in the background, they look absolutely lovely, so don't worry about the background being "simplistic ^^ Her dress looks very lovely, though I'd never combine pink and orange. Did you make it completely with D&D? It looks almost too realistic for that...
