| Promptly, the night after she arrives home, Catleya receives a visit from the person she least wants to see: Haraeméis du Lac. He is the selected representative of their Syndicate, since his supposed kinship with her makes a good excuse for him to go to the house. He informs her that the powerful among Chandratte have intimidated the smaller, rival #Noirfey Syndicate into discontinuing any further attempts on Cat's life. No one assaults one of their operatives without danger of reprisal, and who truly wants all out gang warfare? In exchange, however, the young assassin must still prove she is more valuable alive than dead. Obviously, Cat can do very little of an illicit nature and expect to get away with it while being watched by #Noxvaelia's law enforcement. However, a time of reckoning will come.
