What Moon Shadow didn't mention to Amen was that, in confidence Falling Leaves had told her how, although she'd never had the opportunity, she'd always wanted children. She and Sun Son were considering adoption, but were as yet unsure as to what age child would fit best into their family structure, and be most likely to find happiness with them. The northern hill woman thought it might be good for them to begin practicing on an almost grown, technically centuries old, orphan lad of roughly 17.
