Thank you very kindly, Falak!!! I felt a little silly using the in-game bird for a hieroglyphic character, but after all the trouble I had making that lion (yes, that's a lion), I didn't mind so much, lol!

Lastly, I felt Eilonwy would do well as a Priestess of Isis, a supposed magic worker, just as she knows a few spells in the books, revering a goddess who was known for magic and healing. Also, priestesses of Isis did not have to remain among the clergy; if they chose, they were free to choose a husband and marry, which conferred status onto the man she selected and her new family. In the books, Princess Eilonwy elects to stay with Taran and be ordinary rather than become a great sorceress.

Purportedly they worked their spells by braiding, or leaving uncombed, their hair; this was related to the sacred tying of the "knot of Isis", a very powerful symbol. Another motivating factor for making Eilonwy a Priestess of Isis is that, in the books, she is a wide-eyed chatterbox, and her prattle would not have been tolerated from a female child in many of the ancient civilizations of the world. As a priestess, her status would not quite have equaled a priest, but no one would curtail her.

Eilonwy's pale skin, blue eyes, and blond hair would have been an extreme long shot, even in Ptolemeic Egypt after it was conquered by the Macedonians who did number soldier who possessed some of those traits, as well as red hair, among their numbers. However, one of the reasons I chose to make Eilonwy a Priestess of Isis because of her jagged bangs and "tufty" hair in the movie. This is consistent with the practices of the clergy of Isis who were said to influence the weather with their hair.
