"Everything happened so quickly. The Yelaadim now knew beyond doubt that I was not an Alu Sage, and therefore no prize worth keeping. However, the squad of Damians whose attention had been attracted by the gathering of a large group of Yelaadim, did not know that and were coming to discover what was going on. I was certainly not a prize worth fighting over, nor did the Yalda in charge particularly want to explain their presence or purpose to the Damians. Within moments they were scattering."

I ran to help her, but she ordered me to stay back, because where there were two, undoubtedly the ground would be littered with the things. I never had the opportunity to risk it, however, for I was swiftly surrounded by several Yelaadim. We should have sensed them. I don't know how they evaded detection, but they did, and although we both fought and struggled fiercely, they captured us relatively unharmed."
