Velen considers trying to subtly extract further information from his mother, but judges that he cannot do so without betraying an undue amount of interest. Perhaps if he were to work in tandem with his brother Nimuel... yet that will have to wait until another night. At least now Velen knows that there is data still to be found in certain quarters, that the crime which so obsesses Catleya hasn't been entirely forgotten by #Noirfey society. Velen wonders if he dares inquire of Cat's family.

He gets one. She claims to know nothing of such a person, and recommends that he ask an art dealer. Velen knows instantly that she is lying. Also, his mother must be more than a little flustered to do something so out of character as admit that some other specialist might have knowledge that she lacks. There is not enough raw emotion stirred up, however, that Velen suspects Lady Deyandra of having been involved in Sobralin's death. She merely knows much more than she is willing to admit.

This Velen regards as considerably perilous, as he has never used his telepathic powers either on, or even near, Lady Deyandra, lest she attempt to exploit his magic for her own gain. Still, if anyone would know about an obscure artist dead long since, it would be her; she never forgets even the tiniest shred of trivia, just in case it might prove useful later. Therefore, one afternoon her son casually mentions the artwork of Sobralin Ofelie D'Esperis to Lady Deyandra, and awaits a reaction.
