very few people are "just" what they do for a living----assuming that they actually DO what they're being paid to do. this doesn't sound like a reality that would tolerate goofing off on the job....some jobs less than others, but I'll bet that even the floor scrubber had better get up ALL the foot prints. as for the goof-offs that don't really do their jobs, they may goof off the rest of the time too.

Thanks very much!!! I hope I can keep up this level of drama, lol! And one should never assume that a seamstress, or a landscape gardener, or an artist, are simply that... probably. :)

The suspense is killing me!!! And while she is lovely, I must say, Deva seems to certainly know a lot of the workings of syndicates for a simple seamstress...

I'll be in touch." "How, exactly?" she inquires. "I'll send my brother with word. I trust him implicitly. He can accompany my mother to get... you said emergency dress repairs, right? You're a seamstress? That should do nicely."

I recently found some of his work in an archive when I was researching for my sketches, but I haven't told Catleya that I've uncovered extra details yet. I wanted to see what else we could discover first."

"Yes, of course," the girl confirms. "Does it get more complicated than this?" She smiles. "I don't think so. Not yet, Velen."

Prem Deva sobers rapidly. "You know that she kills people, yes?" "Yes," says Velen, a trifle grimly. "Then you understand that we have to stop her. She's not cut out for it. Cat's beginning to burn out, and when that happens, the Syndicate will eliminate her. An erratic assassin is a threat." "All right, I'm willing. How do you suggest we get her out without getting her killed in the process?" he asks. "I don't know yet. I was hoping you might have some ideas, but we can work on that."

It was true; I'm afraid I sabotaged it so that it would tear easily when she danced. Then I just didn't leave." Audaciously, she winks at him. "You'll help me get out, because you can't afford to start any more gossip." Velen admits that she's right. "You'd better tell me what you want, then. Quickly, in case Catleya does show up."
