From one of my favorite books, "These Old Shades" by Georgette Heyer. For her debut, she is dressed entirely in white, and poudre. This is slightly more rococo inspired than true to period, but what else is imagination for?
(At this point in the book, her true identity is not yet known, and she is called Mademoiselle Leonie de Vauban, in the above titled work of historical fiction.) |
