Even on second considering this doll, the outfit still looks very velvety and opulent in the black with blue accent jewels and highlights. The chiffon/lace over layer still gives a bit of weight with the shoulders and details with the patterns even if he still looks like he'd rather be wearing anything else and doing anything else.... Just trying to be diplomatic about it.
The material definately looks velvety to the eye and possibly touch. The blue gem trim and placement does give a bit of shine and adds to a hint of opulence to the garb. He seems a little uncomfortable in it however, like he would rather be in anything else as well as doing something else while trying to disguise that fact.
