(I'm changing point of view just so you know) I get to school a little later than I normally would, so the grounds are completely empty except for the janitor who was making a large pile of autumn leaves. Mum waves goodbye from the gate, knowing that if she comes with me I'll be even more nervous. Waiting in the hallway are two people, one of whom immediantly bursts into conversation. "Hi! I'm Martha, this is Eric? An you're Amy! Welcome to our school, this way!" I was a little overwhelmed cont.

cont. but I followed Martha and Eric to my locker. Unlike the rest it had no scribblings, grafitti or ancient chewing gum moulds. "You can put your stuff in later," Martha bubbles. "We need to go to our class. Miss Lawson is the most lovely teacher, ever! You'll adore her, come on!"
