After what felt like a long time, the bandages were in place and the pain numbed with a potion. Kyne breathed deeply sat with his back against Faeron. They both had agreed that a rest would be ideal, even in the snow. "Faeron." "Hmm?" "Sorry about not stopping for lunch." Faeron laughed deeply. Of course Kyne would be bothered about that.

"I'm okay, I think." He breathed, "My chest hurts a little." Faeron helped him turn on to his back wincing when he saw the red seeping through the golden vest. The sound of hooves alerted him to their returning mounts and he silently thanked all and any gods that may of existed. The going was slow once he'd retrieved the medical supplies from his pack for fear of harming Kyne further. He hated how the Arch-mage's title made him a target. And he hated even more how he had to fix him again.

He looked around finding Kyne laid crumpled in the snow. The red didn't bother him as he remembered that the Arch-mage had been wearing crimson but, when he crawled closer he knew that perhaps he should of been worried. "Sani?" He called weakly shaking Kyne's shoulder. Relief flooded him when the mage groaned in pain.

flare of power that danced along the staff. He suddenly realized that he should also be focusing on the spell and as he poured his own power into the staff and saw Kyne's eyes widen in surprise. Neither of them had done a dual cast spell before so had no idea as to how another mage's energy would feel. As the monster charged at them both mages let the spell fly. The force of the magic that was released knocked them down. For that Faeron was thankful as the sight of the monster's death would

Faeron took a hold of the weapon, feeling Kyne's magic shivering through it. He was in the midst of focusing him power when there were shouts from the attackers. "All-Father what is that thing?!" Faeron blocked the blow with his staff just in time. The wooden staff snapped in two like a twig and he stumbled backwards. Kyne was then suddenly in front of him. "You want him? You'll burn first!" Kyne flung off several spells allowing time for Faeron to get back to his senses. He could see Kyne was already tiring fast and knew they would run of of time soon. "Kyne!" He called, "Dual cast." The Arch-mage understood what he meant and fell back to his side. With a nod he held out the staff.

"Abandon the mounts!" Kyne yelled jumping from his deer and smacking her rump. Faeron followed suit watching as Kyne armed himself with a simple red and gold staff. He himself owned a simple wooden staff. Both mages began flinging spells off at the men who attacked them. They wore fine armor and Faeron wondered as to who they were. Then the barrier failed and before he knew it a warrior with a maul that looked like it could crush a giant's skull thundered towards Kyne. Then he swung.
