(Lady)Leaf, I'd like to brainstorm a little with you if I may, when you have time. My original thought was to have Liri'el be somewhere between the ages of Mi'isuka and her mother, but if The'uki has been a hostage for ~20,000 years, when would they have met? I'm sure we can work out something... :)

I'm good with their friendship, too. Even if their temperaments were very different, they'd be hyper-noticeable to each other especially. My best friend in grade school had the same name as me, and once we got over being jealous that "she has my name", we were almost inseparable until she moved away. Also, Liri'el is an only child, but always wanted a sibling, so there's that, too. :)

I love her! ^^ She's gorgeous and very ethereal. I think she can stay albino, and I think that Liri'el and The'uki can be friends when they were in training to be healers. ^^

That makes a lot of sense SaralyArati! And a clearification to avoid misunderstang, this is only a coincidental idea clash. I love Sora's concept of Tanjiian Albino and came up with the idea that Mi'isuka's motehr being an Albino healer when making the doll "A Tanjiian Lullaby". Since similiar ideas hit us both, I would suggest, if you may, that Liri'el and The'uki can be fellow healer apprentices (if sora approves that). But still, they are good as complete strangers who share a same dream.

I would imagine that albinos might very well be drawn to healing as a profession, not to insure that there are no more "freakish" babies born, but because health and balance would naturally be a big concern for them. Also, it's a respected field, as I understand it, in which one can excel based on one's own merits, unlike, say politics, where people's perceptions are more important. Does this make sense?

At first Lady Nyo'hita would not accept an Albino daughter-in-law, but it turned out that they get along quite well with each other. However, with the ascension of Tanjia's new Emperor, Ko'tuno, the friendship bewteen Mii'kuo and Ko'tuno's brother put Mi'isuka's family in great danger. To protect her husband and daughter, The'uki offered herself as a hostage to the Emperor, in the hope of securing their lives.

Mi'isuka's mother was born into a noble family. Upon her birth, the first snow of winter came to Tanjia that year, thus her parents named their daughter The'uki, which means snow maiden. Despite her Albino feature, The'uki's family loves her. Just as what they had expected, their daughter grew into a skilled herbal healer and quickly made her reputation among the nobles. One day The'uki was summoned to attend to Lady Nyo'hita, and that's when the destined ones met each other.
