Hmm. JJ gives off some signals of interest, yes. If he was asking you to go with him, that would be a date, yes. Asking someone to dance is a middle area. It can be something polite, as friends, but it could be something more. That said, he is aware you're dating and you've said he's not willing/able to date for a few more years.
