| My model for scream's experiment contest. Week 5, People of Inspiration. I choose my Mom.
My Mother, Dr. K is a scientist, a professor, a teacher, a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister and one of the most wonderful and warm hearted person I've ever known.
Back in the 70s when women were still were fighting for equal opportunities and higher education was virtually unheard off for girls my Mom strove to prove society wrong. She was amoungst the first females from her country to win Britain's Common Wealth scholarship and earn her Ph.D.
And to the shock of many she also fell in love with my Dad and had a love marriage which was rare in her time/culture. To make matters even more interesting my parents brought together two different national and cultural backgrounds in a time when mixed marriages were not the norm.
They taught by example about the power of knowledge and of love. I only hope that I can make my parents proud one day.
