| I can't believe it is the quarterfinals! For this theme, I received night as my time of day. I have seen so many gorgeous night-inspired dolls that I wanted to try and make something quite different from the rest. Since Hayley has ginger hair, I knew that would stand out from the night theme already and decided to base the doll around my favorite kind of night--autumn nights when the harvest moon rises low and orange over the horizon. Not only that, but my favorite animal happens to thrive at night: the owl. So, I added patterns to the dress that echo some natural feather designs of owls (particularly the short-eared owl). It may not be the most conventional way to represent the night, but one night can be vastly different from another. If you would like to see Hayley and I move on to the semifinals, please vote with crowns! I must thank everyone again for their support that has brought me here! ~Gwenn |
