Thank you, Leaf! I figured Gwyntha would be skeptical of Lidari entering her shop like that at first, but after realizing that Lidari was a serious customer she would change her tune a bit. :) It was really fun creating Gwyntha's outfit, so I'm glad you like it!

This is one of the best things ever! Thank you Gwenn for this short story! You nailed Gwyntha, mainly her occasional snobbish :) She's business woman after all, and many of her patrons are courtesans and nobles so...but she's not evil, and can be very kind. I simply adore Lidari's outfit! Those slits are genius! And I love those decorative thread things hanging down her sleeves! And those patterns, I've always adored your patterns! This is so amazing!

I love them both & love how you did the worn-out clothes on Lidari!Gwyntha looks lovely!When you get to the ''edges'' of Black Stone,where Naomine lives,make sure that she comes by!I look forwaard to seeing more dolls on this theme!It's just awesome!

She recognized most of them easily, particularly the captain in front. Lidari pulled her coat closer around her and glanced up and down the street for an easy escape. There, just a few buildings away there was a tavern. Rosy golden light spilled from every window and poured onto the black stone streets, beckoning her inside. Perhaps she could even see if they had room for her to stay.

"Actually, would it be possible to have something done in the next few days?" "I have quick fingers, but I am also a busy woman," Gwyntha replied with a smile. "Come back in four or five days." Lidari nodded and thanked the seamstress before turning to the door and stepping out into the falling dusk. Her heart squirmed uncomfortably in her chest as she spotted a group of soldiers walking down the street amongst the crowd.

"When will you need all of this by?" Lidari scratched her head. Who knows how long it would take for her to settle the issues that had arisen? "It's a bit difficult to say, but I'd guess I'll be here about a month." "That should be a reasonable timeframe. I will require half of my fee up front. The coins and one of the gemstones should do." Lidari handed over the payment and considered. She might need at least one outfit for the near future.

Do you have anything in mind?" "Uh...not really. Just something that I can wear to travel. I'll need four or five outfits to last me a few more years." Gwyntha raised an eyebrow but said nothing, whipping out a notepad and pen. She scribbles a few notes on it and looks up again.

"I guess you could say that," Lidari replied with a slight grimace. "I'm just here for a visit, but while I'm here I thought I could get somethingâ¦new." "I assume you have a way to pay for whatever you plan to order?" "Yes," Lidari said hastily, pulling out a handful of gemstones and coins from her pocket. There was even a lump of lustrous metal that looked suspiciously like pure gold. The seamstress raised her eyebrows in surprise.

Lidari turned and noticed a woman with a cool, sophisticated look come through a door to the side. Lidari assumed that this must be Gwyntha. "Um, yes. I was just...uh, hoping I could maybe get some new clothes." "You've been travelling, then?" Gwyntha asked, critically taking note of Lidari's dusty leather pants, worn out boots, and the bag slung over her shoulder with the handle of a hammer sticking out from it. She could have just as easily been a poor miner or blacksmith.

Lidari opened the door and stepped inside. She was faced with dozens of bolts of ebony material in varying patterns and textures, accented by the occasional colored fabric. Pearls and jet beads lied organized neatly on tables around the room. Lidari edged further into the shop, a bit unsure. "Can I help you?"

Lidari's eyes landed on a sign advertising a shop apparently belonging to a seamstress by the name of Gwyntha. She did need some new clothes, with only a few shirts and two pairs of pants left. The rest of them were either torn to shreds, burned, or simply worn out to the point of no longer having any substance. She didnât mind so much when it was just her and Aurelia, but now that she was returning to civilization--even briefly--she would need something a bit less threadbare.
