They say 'don't go' but I got a hummingbird's soul;
My thought flutter and my feet rush to catch them.
I don't know how to stop because
I never learned how to land.
'Please stay' they say, and I run because I,
I have the heart of a rabbit and it beats,
Beats faster than my thoughts can fly out the door
'Come back' they'll call when I'm gone,
But I won't hear them because
I've got a chameleon's fears
And I'm gone, gone, blending into my bleeding skin
I am the wanderer,
The bird
that leaves in the winter.
I am the nomadic animal girl
That's too afraid to stand for anything
And stands for nothing instead.
I’m a mayfly girl with mayfly loves;
A scared little girl, not a lion.
@forgotten inspired me to make a doll based off of one of my older, kinda crappy poems ^^' |
