To the Oakenlings, after all, white was a holy and powerful color, the hue of purity and of the moon. Not to mention that to be solid white in the forest was a death sentence unless you were extremely strong. For Witches, white symbolized new beginnings and clear intent. Truly, the ceremony might be a disappointment to Joel Haddson, as the couple had agreed on an exchange of rings as wearable mementos. Aside from the tied hands and jumping the broom, it would look not unlike a human wedding.

While there, Ynarra and Brin discussed how they would partition the huge space into chapel, dining area, and ballroom with potted trees and shrubs, conveniently left unsold for next spring. The only thing missing was fairy lights and appropriate ribbons, bows, and other assorted decorations, easy to provide, especially in December. They'd decided on icy white, green, and silver as their primary colors, with accents of rich red. It was Brin's second marriage, but she'd be wearing white as well.

The greenhouse itself, and the nearby potting shed that the bridal party planned to use as a changing room, were in similarly good condition. There was one dark shadow of grumbling anger where a discontented night watchman, now fired, had sat and watched late night television while blaming others for his "crappy life" that was a little trickier to lift, but all in all, the Nursery was quite a contented place to visit and work, apparently. The Baumgarteners had been gracious about their tour.

"The girls", were at Madame Helene's for a fitting of their bridesmaids' dresses, although Marea complained that her size didn't fluctuate nearly as much as Isthare's was bound to. Elora was scheduled for a "check in" at Ankanas, leaving Ynarra and her daughter with this chore, and they were enjoying the time alone together. Really, there were very few "afterimages" of negative emotion haunting the orchards: one of pain where someone had been hurt, several spots of melancholy, nothing serious.
