After sharing the spell's existence with Ynarra, and very carefully not saying how she had come by an incantation that, to the daughter of an Alu Sage, seemed less like Witchcraft than Sagecraft, Brin and her mother had decided to hold that enchantment in reserve, as a final means of convincing the Sisterhood that Elora had indeed changed... if she elected to undergo it. If she hadn't changed, there was no point in even bringing it up to her; she would be too proud to accept such a restraint.

In fact, Isthare had been so convincing, that as a reward, or if you were of a suspicious nature you could view it as a punishment for upsetting the status quo, she was nominated as the Timekeeper. It would be her duty, therefore, to keep account of the trial's three days, and, if the judgment held from sundown to sunrise after the third day turned against Elora, on the fourth morning, Isthare was to summon the Morrigan. No mention had yet been made of the spell Brin had mysteriously "found".
