| It’s the final round! This has been super fun, and I’m glad I signed up for this contest :D For this round I was assigned the theme “present” and at first I was really unsure what I would do with it. I considered doing something based on a skyscraper, or on modern fashion, but I didn’t really want to do either of those. And then an idea hit me. I wanted to do a portrait, with things relating to our present day world in her “hair”. It quickly turned into a statement about our modern society...oops. The symbols/images around her are anything that I think defines our world at the moment: concerns/fears, debates, things we rely on, things that are engraved in our everyday lives, etc. As for the 2 different sides of her face, that’s supposed to represent how so many people these days, especially with rise of social media, don’t act like themselves with others or feel the need to hide what they’re feeling behind a “persona” or “mask”.
