Veronica was born with a mutation that allows her to emit and control ultraviolet lasers. When her powers are engaged, her skin glows light violet. She discovered her powers while delivering a package in Manhattan as a bike messenger. She was sideswiped by a cab, and as she reached to steady herself on the cab's trunk, a laser flew from her hand and sliced the cab nearly in half. Since then she has learned to control her lasers. She can fire pulses and wield them like swords.
