Draensil asked, a bit agitated. The Lothevyn glanced at each other for the tiniest moment, and then Nalwy answered, "We didn't actually see a girl. There was also a long, large shape in the wagon, covered with a blanket, that could quite possibly have been a second person. Yet that is only a speculation on our parts."

"We've seen one abduction nearby already, and Oakenlings are NOT easy to catch or to hold against their wills. Unfortunately, we were too far away..."

That would allow them to make periodic excursions onto the country lanes to check on any possible changes in the crystal Witch's scrying or Orandor's and Elora's ancient spells. It was a reasonable plan, and both sides consented to it. During the last one of these sidetracks, just at dusk, they encountered the snow fae, the Lothevyn. These shy and self-contained people rarely came down off the frozen ice fields of the far north, but this duo, the Lady Irowy and her servant Nalwy, were traders.
