#TwilightRealm and its #Witches and #Oakenlings belong to @LadyLeaf. Continuing my Three Witches story (or perhaps starting a new one):

Brin was blissfully happy. She had delightful friends and dear family who had worked hard to ensure that her wedding had gone smoothly, and now the bride was on her way to visit her new husband's kinfolk of the Eagle Clan. They were flying again, Hawkeye in his bird form and Brin on her griffin, yet this time, during their long journey east through the Twilight Realm, they were able to share one another's thoughts. It had taken her weeks of trial and error, but finally Brin had invented a spell which allowed a Witch to telepathically communicate with a transformed Oakenling, if the two had a strong enough psychic and emotional bond. It was their own little secret, and it made the travel... well... much more than twice as sweet, even though the newlyweds stopped often to spend... er... quality time together in their true shapes. It was less what Brin said, though, than the manner in which she said it, that won the trust and affection of Hawkeye's extended family. When you are a thoroughly lovable individual, often people will respond by loving you. And naturally, Brin grew fond of them in return, although at first she had difficulty retaining names and faces, since more or less the entire clan wished to see her for themselves, and pass judgement on Hawkeye's Witch. Nevertheless, Brin was blissfully happy there, too.

She need not have worried, however. Hawkeye's mother was an influential leader of Eagle Clan, and the shy Oakenling man had been much missed during the past ten years of his search for his dead wife's ghost. Everyone who knew him was disposed to approve of Brin merely for bringing Hawkeye back, whole and healed of mind and heart, much less coming with him as his new wife. His relatives kept her busy with many questions, of course, because they had to hear the entire story again from her lips.

(cont.) Despite this, they made rapid progress, with nothing happening to delay or distress the new couple. Therefore Brin felt a little unready when they actually arrived at Yu'ooda, the traditional home of the Eagle Clan, a day earlier than she had calculated they probably would. It didn't help that, although there were ways leading up and down from the individual home aeries aside from flight, these were steep and tricky, and she didn't want to seem awkward and clumsy as a first impression.
